This dataset was developed for use in an analysis of landcover change in the McKenzie Basin for the Maps and Locals (MALS) project. A consistent classification was used across datasets to facilitate change detection. The more detailed original dataset should be used for all other applications (see http://www.epa.gov/mrlc/nlcd.html).
Re-classified landcover data of the McKenzie River Basin. Original data came from the 1992 National Landcover Dataset (see http://www.epa.gov/mrlc/nlcd.htmlfor more information on the original dataset). Original class 11 was assigned to Open Water, 12 to Perennial Ice/Snow, 21 to Low Intensity Residential, 23 to Commercial/Industrial, 31-33 to Bare Rock/Sand/Clay, 41 to Deciduous Forest, 42 to Evergreen Forest, 43 to Mixed Forest, 51 to Shrubland, 71 to Grassland/Herbaceous, 81 to Pasture/Hay, 82 to Row Crops/Orchards/Vineyards, 91 to Woody Wetlands, and 92 to Emergent Herbaceous Wetlands.
